I would like to congratulate my client Michael Hagen of Tolland, CT for receiving a patent on his Vehicle Gutter Spout Cover. This was a hard patent to get to issue!

This invention is generally a cover that goes over the spout of a gutter on an RV. The gutter spout cover protects an RV cover from being damaged by the gutter spout, when the RV is being stored away. The patent office kept on rejecting this patent application until I was forced to file an appeal brief in order to finally get the USPTO to allow the patent application to issue. On July 25, the USPTO is hosting a half-day seminar on the treatment of standard-essential patents in China. The seminar is from 9-11:30 a.m. ET  at the USPTO Global Intellectual Property Academy in Alexandria, Virginia and via webcast.
