Attending a Connecticut Intellectual Property Association meeting tonight!

I am happy to announce I will be attending another CIPLA meeting tonight at the Elm City Club in New Haven.  The presentation will be a panel discussion on the future of AI Authorship and Inventorship of intellectual property in view of the Supreme Court’s recent cert denial in Thaler v. I will be attending the CIPLA meeting at the Elm City Club in New Haven tomorrow night.

Elizabeth Jackson, acting director of the USPTO’s Northeast Regional Outreach Office will provide an update on USPTO activities, including new and upcoming pilot programs, substantive changes within the USPTO as it relates to examining procedures, and will discuss how the USPTO is implementing the use of generative AI in patent and trademark examination. As a former senior trademark examining attorney, Ms. Jackson will be able to provide unique insights into trademark prosecution and how the new AI searching tools will affect trademark examination. The program will also cover updates and the use of AI with respect to patent examination.
